UBE COOL

Purple yam—aka ube—is a bright and colorful veggie from the Philippines, loved for its naturally sweet, nutty flavor. Traditionally, it’s been a go-to for desserts and sweets. Now, ube is making a splash in drinks too, like Pret’s Ube Brûlée Latte, catching the eye of consumers who are all about trying bold, colorful new flavors.

Muscle Mocha

Influenced by growing popularity of weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic, consumers are turning to their favorite coffee beverages to support muscle-mass retention. This is driving major launch activity of protein coffees, such as Lavazza’s protein cappuccino, spanning the health and indulgence trends.

Matcha Madness

Think matcha’s had its moment? Think again! This year, matcha is booming everywhere—from stores to cafes to the runway — as fresh, fruity twists like Blank Street’s blueberry matcha share the spotlight with high-fashion pop-ups such as Loewe x Tease Matcha.

Environmental claims on new coffee products have jumped 23% in the past year (to April 2025, Mintel GNPD), fuelled by growing consumer awareness.
